Blues Road Trip: The Holy Land

This is 'ME'.

I'm Kat Danser and I'm getting ready to fulfill a dream I've had for years. Thanks to a fortunate tea break with Steve Williams last fall (2007) this dream was reactivated.  I leave March 31, 2008, setting out for Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia and Louisiana.  I will be learning about myself as a blues artist.  How did a young girl from a poor family in Saskatchewan during the drought end up married the Blues?

My guides along the way will be Ma Rainey and Muddy Waters, two blues artists who provide endless inspiration.  I will see where they lived:  Muddy in Clarksdale, MS, and Ma in Columbus, GA.  I will receive an education about the Classic Blues period and why I am so drawn to this time in musical history.

More than that, I will receive mentorship from Bill 'Howl'n Madd' Perry a blues historian and musician in Clarksdale, I will eat Bar-B-Que, watch the Mississippi flow, listen to and absorb the experience.  At the end of it all I will have written my new album.  Two glorious months to get back on track with my soul.

It means alot to me that you will checkin with me from time to time, keeping tabs and letting me know that I'm not alone on this journey.  Please view, respond and keep in touch!

Blessings,
Kat

Congrats Kat... I hope it all goes well. Don't give me too much credit (or Blame!) - we just had a talk... you have taken the bull by the horns (Guitar by the neck?).

Good luck and best wishes.
